The Flat Stanley project

Who is Flat Stanley? A two-dimensional character from a series of children's books, Flat Stanley has literally jumped off the page and into the real world thanks to the Flat Stanley Project.

Much like the traveling gnome phenomenon popularized by the film Amélie and the Travelocity commercials, the Flat Stanley Project invites elementary school students to mail out versions of Flat Stanley that they have printed and colored from a template, and have recipients take pictures of Flat Stanley to document his many travels.

Recently I was invited to take part in this project by a close relative in Delaware. (Apparently, a chance to visit me in Las Vegas was irresistible to Flat Stanley.) Click on the following links to see how we did.
