Take a good look at these two photos.
The man on the left is Matthew McConaughey, who turns 36 today.
The man on the right is Sean "Diddy" Combs, who turns 36 today.
Coincidence? Absolutely not. Never mind that one was born in Texas and the other in NYC. Just look at them! Maybe no one ever thought of putting these two in the same room, but once you see them side by side, you just know they were separated at birth. No wonder the leads in The Wedding Planner had no chemistry; the whole experience was just too painful for poor Jennifer Lopez.
Not surprisingly, they have never appeared in a film together. But look who I needed to link them together:
Matthew McConaughey was in Reign of Fire with Christian Bale
Christian Bale was in Batman Begins with Gary Oldman
Gary Oldman was in JFK with Kevin Bacon
Kevin Bacon was in The Woodsman with Mos Def
Mos Def was in Monsters' Ball with Sean "Diddy" Combs
As a side note, November 4 presented multiple opportunities for this kind of post. I could have gone with ex-MTV personalities (or is it MTV ex-personalities?) Trishelle Cannatella and Jesse Camp, who turn 26; faded stars Kathy Griffin and Ralph Macchio, who turn 44; or political icons Laura Bush and Robert Mapplethorpe, born 59 years ago.
55 Fiction Friday knows the perils of absurdist humor.
Stand out, set your footing, and use a hook to secure your elevated position. Always reserve enough within yourself to keep advancing to the next, higher level. Step lightly to prevent it all from crashing upon you. Most importantly, don’t look back.
Remember, this is social climbing. It’s okay to leave your past buddies hanging.

Ralph Macchio is 44?????
Better believe it. Born November 4, 1961, and still staying gold.
Also note that the Kathy Griffin link is working again. (I point these things out for a reason.)
The fact that Ralph Macchio and Kathy Griffin are the same age totaly stunned me.
