Rest in peace

Rosa Parks died Monday at the age of 92. It's difficult to quantify the loss of anyone, but this situation is unusual because she is more often depicted as a political symbol than as a person. The early eulogies by the media focus on her historical significance -- ABC News has a particularly good one here -- but here's hoping a few articles paint a fuller picture of the woman's life.

I have no brilliant comment to make here, but I will say this: unlike so many figures in the civil rights movement, she died of old age.

The above sites give good description of Rosa Parks's story.

May her soul rest in peace
