Chris caressed Jamie's hand as they sat on the loveseat across from me. They noticed my fidgeting, but were too polite to comment upon it. I counted ten awkward silences before I broke.
"So this marriage of yours... was it legal?"
"Of course. The governor herself officiated our ceremony."
I frowned.
"Something bothering you, Lola?"
