Pic-Tac-Toe (14th edition)

I realize it's been months since I composed one of these, but the well ran dry for a while. I still have some ideas (i.e. unusual themes) to try building future puzzles, but I think we all know the days of seeing these once a week are over.

For those new to this, the following 9 images are laid out in a 3x3 grid, and each row, column, and diagonal is connected by a different theme. Determine the themes and solve the puzzle.

(Click the image to enlarge. Guess in the comments.)

Probably not my best effort, but certainly doable. Good luck!

SOLVED! Frequent solver Bill of Shakespeare Teacher came to visit and figured out all 8 themes. (I hope he hasn't been coming every Wednesday for the past 2 months and leaving disappointed.)

I can't identify Image 9. Otherwise, I think I got it.

Left Column: CROWNS (Above the r in Charmed, on top of the king, on the head of the rooster)

Middle Column: OCEAN'S ELEVEN (George Clooney, Don Cheadle, Eliot Gould)

Right Column: HOUSE/HOME (No place like home, Dame House, ?)

Top Row: ROSE (Rose McGowan, Rose Gregorio, Rose Red)

Middle Row: TITLES (King, Don, Dame)

Bottom Row: WINE (Pictured)

Slash: RED (Rose Red, Admi(red), Red Wine)

Backslash: -ED SUFFIX (Charmed, Admi(red), ?)

I tried to find something for Image 9 that would fit, but I could not. A House Divided?

OK, I got most of these but am also stumped by photo #9 (number nine...number nine...number nine...)

Basically, it just made me want to drink red wine far too early in the morning.

Image 9 is from last year's The Jane Austen Book Club. Pictured are actresses Kathy Baker and Amy Brenneman (in front of a house).

You have 6 correct themes. The woman in image 2 is actually Rosemary Clooney, who guested on her nephew's show.

The left column is not CROWNS. It's a lot more obscure.

The backslash is not -ED SUFFIX, but it's a little less obscure now that I've identified image 9.

If it helps, I chose that particular image 1 so that the actresses would be easily identifiable. But the word "Charmed" has no place in this puzzle.

I think the left column may be a little too obscure (not even Googleable, as far as I can tell), so I'll add another hint:

Each actress in image 1 gets her own theme.

Oh, well played, sir.

Left Column: PEPPERIDGE FARM COOKIES (Milano, Chessmen, Bordeaux)

Backslash: PICKET FENCES (Holly Marie Combs, Don Cheadle, Kathy Baker)

I subscribe to your RSS feed, so I've been here all along. But since I'm not much of a sports fan, I haven't had much to say until now.

A good bit of solving there.

I have an RSS feed?

OMG...now I need to drink wine AND eat cookies...THANKS.

Cookies add cholesterol, red wine reduces it. Balances out.

For the record, here are the 8 themes.

Top Row: ROSE (Rose McGowan, Rosemary Clooney, Rose Red)

Middle Row: HONORIFIC TITLES (King/Bishop, Don, Dame)

Bottom Row: WINE (wine package, wine bottle and glass, wine glass)

Left Column: PEPPERIDGE FARM COOKIES (Milano, Chessmen, Bordeaux)

Middle Column: OCEAN'S ELEVEN, ETC. (George Clooney, Don Cheadle, Elliott Gould)

Right Column: HOUSE/HOME ("There's No Place Like Home", Dame House, house exterior)

159 Backslash Diagonal: PICKET FENCES (Holly Marie Combs, Don Cheadle, Kathy Baker)

357 Slash Diagonal: RED (Rose Red, The Gap's Product RED campaign, red wine)
