Pic-Tac-Toe (2nd edition)

I'm famous! Sort of. Jeopardy! champ Ken Jennings gave me a shout-out for my first Pic-Tac-Toe, calling it "very elegant." Unsure of my gender, he covered his bases with a "his/her/its" pronoun. (For the record: his. But with the photo on the right, who can blame him?) He even read through the comments, and quoted Mike of I Am Prepared to Give Up at Any Time. Ah, linkage: you bring us all closer together.

Anyway, as I stated in my first post, the Pic-Tac-Toe puzzle is an arrangement of 9 images in a 3x3 grid with a unique theme for each row, column, and diagonal. I lack the talent to create these on a regular basis (translation: I'm completely stuck in a rut on a third puzzle), so enjoy them while you can.

(Click the image to enlarge. Make your guesses in the comments.)

SOLVED! Yeah, already. Bill of Shakespeare Teacher clearly takes advantage of living in the Eastern Time Zone, and figures out all 8 themes at 4:25 a.m. on my clock. If you wish to remain unspoiled and solve this puzzle yourself, then DON'T go to the comments. Save it for checking your answers.

Another elegant construction!

I think I got it. Sorry if this spoils the fun for anyone, but I'm the competitive type...

Top Row: CAKE (Cake, Layer Cake, Mmmm cake)

Center Row: FORD (Whitey Ford, Harrison Ford, Ford Motors)

Bottom Row: GUNS

Left Column: AN ALBUM COVER

Center Column: JAMES BOND ACTORS (Daniel Craig, Sean Connery, Pierce Brosnan)

Right Column: TEXAS (Texas Cake, Texas Ford Dealers, Texas Ranger)

Slash: STATES (Kansas, Indiana Jones, Texas)

Backslash: HEADWEAR (Crown, Fedora, Helmet)

Well, that was fast. Not even 5am in the Pacific time zone.

I was going for RIFLES in the bottom row, but yeah. (I almost put a Remington Steele picture for #8 (get it? Remington?), but thought this one from The Matador was more direct.

Excellent description for the left column. Speaking of Jeopardy! (and Sean Connery), I'm reminded of this...

Sean Connery: Well, the game is afoot. I'll take Anal Bum Cover for 7,000.

Alex Trebek: That's An Album Cover, not anal bum cover.

Sean Connery: I can read, Trebek. That says Anal Bum Cover. I've spent five years of my life trying to invent an anal bum cover. Failing to do so is my greatest regret.

I never even had a chance. I'm on vacation and so was asleep for all of that. Well done tough. Quite.

More please. Perhaps for Bill and I, a Shakespeare-centric one?

I might be able to put Shakespeare in the center square, but an all-Shakespeare version would be exceedingly difficult to create. I'll think about it.

Anyway, I have three more of these puzzles created and ready to go in due time.
